Re: 1996 xj
I'm pretty sure 5.5" springs for a tj well net way more lift in an xj than you want. Thinking that while the suspension is identical, the spring length between the two is not...

Re: Headlamps
I have 3-4 of these stashed around the house truck and trailer and I really like them. I've not had any issues with longevity but I probably don't use them as often as you do. They are small but still bright. Price is good too. RAYOVAC Virtually Indestructible 50 Lumen 3AAA LED Headlight with Batter...

Re: What would you build today?
It's hard for me not to bring up RZR over and over. For trail riding they are pretty awesome. I can run 40-50mph pretty comfortable, I can go rock crawling, it's comfortable besides no heat. Fits right in there on the budget. They are reliable and easy to work on. They require a decent amount of mai...

Re: Kenwood VHF Radios
Programming: You can program these radios pretty easily yourself. You need a cable (KPG-43) and the software. You can buy the software ($40), you might be able to download it from ehamfiles.com. The software is pretty easy to use, pretty intuitive. I have a baseline file with all the frequencies an...

Kenwood VHF Radios
Mexico happened and we learned how nice a 110w VHF radio is. We had a few vehicles with 50w radios and one with a 110w radio. There was a significant difference in audio quality and the ability to reach out in distance. We could hear them clearly still and they couldn't hear us at all. It was then w...

First!
First post! I win. I've already had to reset my password. An it really weird to have my username that was associated to a vehicle I took to the scrap yard in 2006. Come to think of it I changed my username to 74J10 at one point, which was also wrong because I owned a 76 Cherokee FSJ at one point and...
